Jenkins Ranche was established in 1888 and is located in the Southwest corner of Alberta, nestled under the Rocky Mountains where we border Waterton Lakes International Park.  Throughout the early 1900’s the ranch raised polo ponies, cavalry mounts, Durham cattle and sheep.   It was in 1938 that
the first registered Horned Herefords were purchased and they have made up the base of our cowherd ever since.   The cattle here graze primarily on native grass pastures and with a climate that has many extremes (including our famous “Chinook” winds), the adaptability and high efficiency of the Hereford breed suits our environment very well.  Now run by Bob Jenkins and his daughter Jennifer, the ranch calves 300 Hereford females annually and is in it’s fourth generation.

As cattle breeders we are committed to raising economical, functional, “problem-free” Hereford seed stock that require minimal maintenance in a rugged environment.   We strive to provide exceptional customer service which allows you to purchase with the confidence that we ‘stand behind’ the cattle
we raise.

While our focus is on raising cattle that are geared to please the commercial cattleman we enjoy presenting our purebred cattle at various livestock shows.  For us this is a way of measuring our
cattle in the purebred industry and an opportunity to have our cattle viewed and evaluated.   Our goal
is not to raise “show” cattle but rather to raise honest ranch cattle that will compete in the pasture
AND in the show ring.

We appreciate you taking the time to view our cattle program.  Feel free to give us a call or drop in anytime, we look forward to the chance to have a visit and learn more about you and your cattle business!
