Nature Conservancy Canada (NCC)

The Nature Conservancy of Canada is the nation’s leading land conservation organization, working to protect our most important natural areas and the species they sustain. Since 1962 NCC and its partners have helped to protect more than 2 million acres (800,000 hectares), coast to coast and over 180,000 acres in Alberta.

NCC is the lead organization in securing and co-stewarding the Waterton Park Front (WPF) Project, one of the largest private land conservation initiatives in Canada. Since 1997, over 30,000 acres (12,141 ha) of ranch lands within this working landscape have been conserved by NCC. Through establishment of conservation easements and purchase of fee simple lands, conservation and ranching work hand-in-hand to sustain the diversity of plants and animals and the lands and water they depend on in the WPF.

Welcome to my site! I live on a ranch in southern Saskatchewan with my husband and two sons. I have been a cowgirl my whole life and am very fortunate to be living the life that I love. Five years ago I got my first camera and now one of my greatest joys is taking pictures, especially pictures of our ranching lifestyle and the simple beauty of nature. I hope you enjoy sharing that beauty with me through these pictures

Dames on the Range:  Not Your Momma’s Social Club

So just who are those Dames on the Range? We are a group of rural businesses, all owned or managed by women, partnering to create get-away packages for women, families and groups. As this bounty of operators get to know each other better, we help each other to strengthen and support our local economic communities through Tourism, Agriculture, Environment, Mental/Physical Health and Education while we host special vacation, learning and relaxation opportunities for visitors to this region.

Our mission is to share the culture and heritage of the western lifestyle by inviting guests to learn about the basics and foundation of a sustainable ranch operation, participate in the activities on the ranch wherever possible and provide opportunities to develop a better sense-of-self surrounded by encouragement and confidence.

All of our businesses operate west and south of Calgary, along the eastern slopes of the Rockies past the Old Man River and east into the Porcupine Hills off the Cowboy Trail corridor.
